Cooking in the Garden at Rutgers Gardens in New Brunswick, NJ.
Our tomato plants will be heavy with fruit during this visit to the Volunteer Supported Agriculture (VSA) Garden. After a guided tour, we will gather around for a taste of gorgeous tomatoes of every color and size—tiny cherries, flavorful heirlooms and varieties developed at Rutgers. Chef Rachel will demonstrate several dishes from around the world that celebrate the tomato. Other crops ready to be harvested in the garden such as eggplants, tomatillos and ground cherries will be covered, too. Recipes will be provided to take home. This class will take place in the garden. Please dress for the weather.
