Join me for a Farm Fiesta Interactive Dinner featuring Cherry Grove Farm meats, local produce and products made by non-profit Corazon Kitchen from New Brunswick.
Upon arrival, sip a refreshing agua fresca and help prepare the first course of elote, Mexican street-style corn. After the charred ears come off the glowing grill, slather them in butter, chile powder, cilantro, lime and salts and spices from Corazon Kitchen. Gather around our communal farm table for a demonstration of a seasonal salad made with a hibiscus flower dressing. As the scent of charro beans made with Cherry Grove Farm’s chorizo and bacon wafts across the lawn, you will learn how to make tortillas from scratch and pass a platter piled high with them to accompany succulent chicken from the farm, cooked slowly in Corazon Kitchen’s mole rojo, a savory sauce made with hand ground chiles and spices. Finish the evening with a dessert duo of paletas and baked churros.
